Blessed Day

Kayla had a pretty good day. We went to church and made through youth group. She even had enough energy to go to a friends house afterwards.
We met back at church. Kayla decided to join youth choir and the dance ministry. Praise to God. I really wanted her to join youth choir before she became sick. Thank you Lord for speaking into her heart.
Psalms 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go : I will guide thee with mine eye.
She will be singing and dancing in our singing Christmas Tree program at Bannockburn Baptist Church. Hope all can join us. This is our goal!! Dr. Brown said it's good to have goals and positive thoughts.

Met Shea & Went To The Bowie Game

Kayla had a very good day today. Went to Radiation, 1 week down and 5 weeks to go.
After her treatment we went to see how Shea was doing and meet her for the first time.
We have spoken to her over the phone but never had the chance to meet her before her surgery. Shea also was very blessed that every thing came out fine. She still has 10% of her tumor and will need Radiation as well but is able to walk.Praise God. Please continue to pray for her family as well.
Kayla rested for little before going to the Bowie game. We went to the game and Kayla was able to be a preteen, walk around and hang with her friends. Bowie lost but we think they had some bad calls. They still played great, they never gave up. That's what I remind Kayla almost everyday. YOU Can't Give Up!!! Thanks Coach Ables!!
Kayla loves to see commets posted! She checks her site everyday.
THANKS FOR YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.

Bad Day

Kayla had a very bad day today.Mom forgot the bedtime dose of her medication. I guess to much sugar before bed!!! Sorry I had to make you smile. I really felt bad.!! :( There nothing like seeing your daughter so sick and knowing that you forgot. School was tough but we made it through it. On the bright side, they will keep her on her meds for a little longer knowing that she really needs them for longer period of time then they thought. It was a restful night for her.
THANK YOU FOR YOU PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS!!!!

POWERADE DAY

I want to start off by saying THANK YOU to Hyde Park @ Bannockburn Baptist school. This is where Trace(Kayla's brother)attends Kinder. Last week Mrs. Brenda Russell(Principal) and staff sent empty powerade bottles home with the students and ask the families to fill them with coins. They then would bring them back in a week during Chapel. She also ask if Kayla could come to Chapel to receive them from the students. It was a huge amount of money that they collected and we can't Thank everyone enough for all their support. Praise God for all the wonderful people my family is surrounded by.

1 Chronicles 29:13 Therefore, our God, we thank thee , and praise thy glorious name.

Kayla had a pretty good day. Radiation went good again. Went to youth group and had a great time. We got lost on the way home and ended up at Basket Robbins. SHHH!! Don't tell anyone.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUING PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS.

P.S. Kayla also has a new friend(I call her an angel)that we have became close with, her name is Shea Williams and she also too just had a tumor removed from her spine and will be going through Radiation. She is a mother of 2. Please keep her/family in your prayers as well.

Day 2 of Radiation

Kayla had school this morning and was feeling pretty good. Dr. Brown changed her med times around a little to see if it would help the cramping and nausea in the morning. It was cute... Kayla was saying that she had to much homework today!!! Radiation went a lot quicker today,so that was good as well. Kayla felt a little tired tonight...maybe it was all that school work. :)
Over all we had a good day. I was also notifed today of a Benefit that will be happening on
Oct 25, 2008 in Lago Vista for our baby girl.
AGAIN THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS.
Prayers
And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

First Day of Radiation

We had a good day today!! :) Kayla's teacher came for school in the morning.
Then we had lunch and went to radiation. Radiation took about an hour & 1/2 but all went well. Then, of course, we had to stop at Chick Fil A for a milkshake on the way
home. Kayla rested for a little, then her Aunt Tommie came over with Dominic. Followed Grandma and close friends. Little that she knew mom had a whole night planned for her. About 7:00 there was a knock on the door .The LONGHORN ALUMNI BAND had came over to play for her in our front yard. It was GREAT!!! Then some of the BOWIE VARSITY FOOTBALL PLAYERS came over and presented the game ball from a game they had dedicated to Kayla and WON along with a poster and T-Shirt. IT WAS A GREAT NIGHT!!! There wasn't any way better to end the first day of treatment!!!!
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR MAKING THIS NIGHT SPECIAL FOR OUR ANGEL!!!
PRAISE TO THE LORD!!!

The Day Before Radiation

We had a bad morning today...Our stomach was hurting really bad this morning.

We really wish we knew what the real reason her stomach still hurts and

needs to vomit.

We made it to church to thank the Lord for all he has done for us,then came

home and took it easy.

A little nervous about starting radiation tomorrow.

THANKS FOR ALL THE PRAYERS!!!!

Getting the news

Today was the day we get the news of what Kayla was looking at for treatment.

Dr. Harrod came to talk to us about Kayla's treatment plan and to talk to Kayla

of what was going on. Kayla is looking a 53 week treatment plan, 6 weeks of Radiation with a little Chemo and then 47 weeks of Chemo. Even through Dr.George removed 100% of the tumor we still need to treat the microscopic cells that were maybe left behind.
We have a long road ahead of us but THANK YOU JESUS that we have our baby girl.
Kayla has been up and eating a little but still not enough. She will be having surgery for her Port(this is for when she start her treatments) on Wednesday along with her spinal tap.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS!!!!
